Building ‘Wicked’ Out of LEGO
We love LEGO! When we were contacted to photograph an event with LEGO we were beyond excited! We also love musicals. So when we learned this event with LEGO involved the new ‘Wicked’ movie, we were even more excited! The event was held at the LEGO store inside the Mall of America. As the largest shopping mall in the United States, it was an ideal location. Families and fans joined together to build a mosaic mural inspired by “Wicked’. As a family of LEGO enthusiasts, with multiple sets proudly displayed in our home, this event was right up our alley!
One Square Per Person
The main feature of the event was the large LEGO mosaic mural, designed to showcase the world of “Wicked.” Guests worked on small, square sections of the mural, each piece adding to the big picture. To help keep things in order, all the pieces had specific patterns and a design number to guide the build process. Participants of all ages enjoyed working together, and the mural gradually came to life. Adding to the excitement, the event showcased the new “Wicked” LEGO sets, which were a big hit among fans.
The Final Creation
Over 110,000 1×1 pieces, 3072 individual squares, hundreds of people helping, all to create the final masterpiece!
